In the past few months I’ve been approached by friends and aquaintances asking about travel advice. Always eager to share my experiences and stories, I found that I actually really enjoyed helping people plan their own trips and adventures. I’d throw in some tidbits of advice here and there as well. But what better way to share my experiences and insight than on a blog?! Between the few trips I’ve taken, I’ve racked up about 40+hours of research on destinations, transits, buying flights and packing backpacks for my trip. I’m by no means an expert, but I’m gunna share what I do know in hopes someone out there will find it useful.

The focus of my research is mainly geared towards adventure travel. Sure a pint (or 4) of beer by some beach resort is nice, but how long could I really do that for before I got bored? Probably not very long. To me, there is nothing worse than going to a foreign country for 2 weeks and spending it sheltered in your resort. What a waste! I say, get out there, explore the food, culture, people and what the destination really has to offer you aside from the usual resort packages! It definitely makes for more interesting stories and at the end of the day, those are the ones you will remember for the rest of your life. “Gather ’round kids, let me tell you about the time I went to Mexico and sat on my ass for a week to eat and drink from day ’til night”, said no one! With that said, there is a time and place for resorts. For example, my recent trip to Sablayan, in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines, my friend Mandeep and I stayed at Pandan Island Resort. The main city was a tourist hub but we decided on the resort because the hostels/hotels there looks absolutely dumpy. For a few dollars more, we got a private room on a private island, mind you the amenities were far from luxurious (think salt water showers and giant spiders)!

Either way, I am super excited to start sharing about my adventures! Hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.
